A Joy More Precious Than Gold

Storyline Description

What if the greatest treasure you could ever find was not bronze, silver, gold, or precious stones, but the gift of life itself—a life found in Jesus?

I have discovered a joy so precious that bronze cannot measure it, silver cannot purchase it, gold cannot equal it, and precious stones cannot compare.

This joy is Jesus—and in Him is life

Sometimes, however, life does not feel joyful. We find ourselves searching for something we cannot name. Disappointment comes. Plans fail. Regret settles in, and confusion can leave us wondering whether our lives still have meaning.

Perhaps you have even reached a place where you have questioned your usefulness.

But remember this:

You are still useful in the house of the Lord.

Your difficult season does not erase your purpose. Your mistakes do not have to become the conclusion of your story. If God has given you another day, you still have life to live, love to give, lessons to learn, and purpose to discover.

So instead of continually running toward regret, run toward the joy that is found in Christ.

From “I” to “We”

Then Scripture confronts us with a powerful question:

“Am I my brother’s keeper?” — Genesis 4:9 (KJV)

Cain asked the question after God confronted him concerning Abel. For us, it can provoke another reflection: Am I living only for myself, or have I learned to care about the people God has placed around me?

Life cannot always be about “I.”

Sometimes God wants us to discover the beauty of “we.”

We encourage one another.

We pray for one another.

We serve one another.

We help carry one another through difficult seasons.

Your life has purpose not only because of what you can accomplish, but also because of the love, encouragement, and service you can give to others.

Depend on God

There will also be battles you cannot win through your own strength.

We often exhaust ourselves trying to defend everything, control everything, explain everything, and make everything happen according to our own timing.

But there is another way:

Depend on God.

There is a difference between constantly defending yourself and confidently depending on God. Dependence on Him does not mean doing nothing; it means recognizing that your strength, direction, and ultimate help come from Him.

Learn Your Time

Not everything has to happen today.

There is a time to move, a time to wait, a time to speak, and a time to remain quiet. There are doors we desperately want to open that may simply not be ours to enter yet.

Learn your season. Learn your time.

And when something around you does not seem right—when confusion grows, circumstances become overwhelming, or you do not know which direction to take—do not allow fear to become your hiding place.

Flee to God in prayer.

Bring Him the confusion.
Bring Him the disappointment.
Bring Him the questions.
Bring Him the regret.

And then trust Him with what comes next.

Life Is Not Over

As long as there is life, do not write the ending before God does.

You may have experienced disappointment, but you still have purpose.

You may have made mistakes, but there is still a road ahead.

You may not understand your present season, but you can still seek God in it.

The greatest treasure is not bronze.
It is not silver.
It is not gold.
It is not even the most precious stone.

The treasure is Jesus.

And in Him, we discover something money could never purchase:

Life. Joy. Purpose. Love. Hope.

So live beyond “I.”
Learn the beauty of “we.”
Depend on God.
Understand your season.
And when you do not know where else to go—

Go to Him in prayer.
