Storyline Description
When fear surrounds you, and the future seems uncertain, where do you look for strength? Life, identity, destiny, and freedom find their true direction when we look beyond ourselves and look unto Jesus.
Look Unto Jesus
There are moments in life when fear seems greater than our strength. We search for answers, direction, security, and something—or someone—to depend upon.
But when my own strength is no longer enough, I look unto God.
He is the One I call my strength.
I have no greater strength than the strength I find in Jesus.
This life I am living does not belong to me alone. God is the giver of life, and every day He gives us is an opportunity to live for His glory and according to His purpose.
So I remind myself:
Look unto Jesus.
When you are confused—look unto Jesus.
When you are afraid—look unto Jesus.
When you do not know what tomorrow holds—look unto Jesus.
Hebrews gives us these beautiful words:
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…” — Hebrews 12:2, KJV
Who Are You Looking Unto?
That question deserves more than a quick answer.
Who has your trust?
When trouble comes, what do you reach for first? When your plans fail, whose wisdom directs your next step? When fear speaks loudly, whose voice do you allow to speak louder?
People can encourage us. Knowledge can help us. Wisdom has its place. But none of these should occupy the place that belongs to God.
Jesus said:
“I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” — John 8:12, KJV
When you cannot see the entire road ahead, you can still follow the Light.
Give Him Your Fears
What are you afraid of?
Your future?
Your mistakes?
Your finances?
Your family?
Your purpose?
Your destiny?
Bring those fears before God.
Faith does not mean pretending that challenges do not exist. It means refusing to allow those challenges to become greater in your heart than the God in whom you trust.
Sometimes surrender begins with a simple prayer:
Lord Jesus, I give You my life.
I give You my soul.
I give You my future and my destiny.
All the glory, honor, adoration, and praise belong to You.
Be Lord over every part of my life.
Do Not Become a Slave to What Cannot Save You
The world offers many things that promise freedom but can eventually become masters.
- Approval.
- Money.
- Status.
- Possessions.
- Fear.
- Pride.
- Even our own desires.
Something may begin as a possession, yet if we are not careful, what we possess can begin to possess us.
This is why we must continually examine what has authority over our hearts.
Your identity should not be controlled by what people call you. Your destiny should not be surrendered to fear. Your freedom should not become bondage to the things of this world.
Do Not Play With Time
Life is precious, and time is part of that gift.
Some moments call us to wait on God, but others call us to move, change, forgive, serve, pray, or obey.
Do not waste your life waiting for the “perfect” moment to surrender yourself completely to Him.
Your time has purpose.
Your life has purpose.
Your future has purpose.
And ultimately, all of these thoughts lead to one important question:
Who Is the Master of Your Life?
Is it fear?
Is it the expectations of people?
Is it worldly success?
Is it yourself?
Or is it Jesus?
Your answer will shape how you understand your identity, use your freedom, face your fears, and approach your future.
So when fear rises, look unto Jesus.
When the future is uncertain, look unto Jesus.
When your strength fails, look unto Jesus.
And when you wonder who should have the final authority over your life, remember:
Jesus should not simply be part of your life—let Him be Lord over your life.
