Storyline Description

God does not only comfort, teach, and prepare us for ourselves. He develops us so that what He places within us can be faithfully passed to others. We are His work in progress—called to learn, grow, serve, and teach.

Lord, Give Me Wisdom

There comes a time when we must recognize that we cannot fulfill God's purpose through our own understanding.

Our prayer becomes:

Lord Jesus, help me.
Grant me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
Send Your Comforter to assist me, comfort me, teach me, and guide me.

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.”
— John 14:16, KJV

We are not expected to walk through life without divine help. God gives us His Spirit to guide, strengthen, comfort, and teach us.

You Are God's Work in Progress

Sometimes we look at ourselves and see only what is unfinished.

God sees differently.

Think of yourself as His work in progress. He is teaching you lessons, developing you in certain areas, and using experiences to prepare you for His purpose.

In 2 Kings 4:8–17, the Shunammite woman faithfully showed hospitality to Elisha without initially asking for anything in return. Yet God remembered her faithfulness, and a promise came concerning the deep desire of her heart—a son.

There is something beautiful here:

Faithful service is not invisible to God.

That does not mean serving God guarantees everything we personally desire. Rather, it reminds us that God sees faithfulness, even when people do not.

What God Gives You Must Continue

God's Word should not stop with one person.

What you learn should help someone else learn.
What you receive should equip you to serve.
What you have been taught should be faithfully passed forward.

Paul expresses this principle in 2 Timothy 2:2: entrust what has been learned to faithful people who will also be able to teach others.

That creates a beautiful pattern:

Receive → Learn → Live → Teach → Pass it on.

The Word continues from one generation to another.

The Five L's

Your idea of the Five L's could become the practical framework of the message:

Leadership — Someone provides direction, example, instruction, and guidance.

Learner — The student must be willing to listen, study, practice, and grow. Before becoming a teacher, we must remain teachable.

Lesson — There must be something worth passing on. A lesson provides knowledge, experience, correction, and understanding.

Location — Learning happens somewhere. The location may be a church, classroom, home, workplace, community—or simply a conversation between two people.

Language — Truth must be communicated in a way the learner can understand. Language is the bridge that allows knowledge to travel from one person to another.

Together, these Five L's demonstrate that discipleship is intentional. Someone teaches, someone learns, truth is communicated, and eventually the learner becomes capable of helping another learner.

The Word That Changes Us

The Bible contains 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament—66 books altogether. Yet its importance is not simply in the number of books. Scripture teaches, corrects, guides, and equips us.

The Bible uses powerful pictures to describe God's Word.

It is compared to rain, accomplishing God's purpose (Isaiah 55:10–11).

It is like fire and a hammer (Jeremiah 23:29).

It is pure (Proverbs 30:5).

It is compared to a sword (Hebrews 4:12).

And the words of Christ are associated with spirit and life (John 6:63).

The Word does not merely give us information.

It transforms us.

From Student to Servant

There is a season to sit under instruction.

There is a season to observe.

There is a season to become an apprentice—to follow, study, practice, make corrections, and gain experience.

But eventually, what has been faithfully learned should become something that can be faithfully shared.

You were not taught merely to know.

You were taught so that you could live it.

And as you live it, you become able to teach it.

A Prayer

Lord Jesus, grant me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Let Your Holy Spirit comfort me, guide me, and teach me. Make me a faithful learner and a faithful servant. Let Your Word transform my life, and help me faithfully pass what You teach me to others. May what You place within me never end with me. Use my life for Your purpose and Your glory. Amen.

Closing Thought

Learn the Word.
Live the Word.
Teach the Word.
Pass the Word forward.

Because the Word of God was never meant to stop with us—it should continue through us.

Thank you for your clap! If you like, please leave a short message.
