There are seasons when life seems delayed, opportunities appear closed, and our purpose feels hidden. Yet faith reminds us that our future ultimately belongs to God. We can release yesterday, remain close to Jesus, walk faithfully in the purpose He gives us, and trust that God remembers faithful service—even when people do not.
The Power of Faith
Faith does not mean that we will never experience delay.
Sometimes life feels stagnant.
Sometimes we wonder whether our dreams will ever become reality.
Sometimes yesterday's disappointments begin speaking louder than tomorrow's possibilities.
But faith says:
My story is not finished.
My past does not own my future.
My disappointments do not determine my destiny.
My life belongs to God.
Therefore, instead of allowing fear to control tomorrow, I place my future into God's hands.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:7, KJV
Lord, My Future Belongs to You
“Lord Jesus, I want to be with You.”
The greatest blessing is not simply receiving everything we desire.
It is remaining close to Christ.
So my prayer becomes:
Lord, release me from whatever keeps me spiritually bound.
Help me move beyond stagnation.
Heal what needs healing.
Correct what needs correcting.
And lead me into the future You desire for me.
I do not simply want my plans.
I want God's purpose.
I Am Set Apart for a Purpose
Perhaps you have wondered:
Why am I here?
Why have I experienced these things?
Why has my journey taken so long?
We may not always receive immediate answers.
But Ephesians 2:10 reminds believers:
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works…”
You are not called merely to exist.
There is work to do.
There are people to encourage.
There is love to demonstrate.
There is truth to live.
There is service to give.
There is a testimony being formed.
I am set apart for a purpose—and I must remain faithful in this season.
The King Who Came on a Donkey
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, He rode a donkey, fulfilling the imagery of Zechariah 9:9. The Gospel accounts present this as part of His messianic identity.
He did not arrive like an earthly military conqueror displaying force.
He came in humility.
Later Jesus told Pilate:
“My kingdom is not of this world…”
— John 18:36, KJV
This passage teaches a lesson about purpose.
God's purpose does not always look the way people expect greatness to look.
Jesus demonstrated that humility is not weakness.
Service is not insignificance.
And earthly recognition is not the ultimate measurement of a meaningful life.
When People Don't Recognize What You Do
“People may not appreciate all the things that I may be doing with a good heart.”
That will happen.
Not every sacrifice will receive applause.
Not every act of kindness will be remembered by people.
Not everyone will understand your intentions.
And not every good thing you do will receive an immediate reward.
But Scripture encourages believers:
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
— Colossians 3:23, KJV
This changes the question from:
“Did people notice me?”
to:
“Was I faithful to God?”
Human recognition may come or it may not.
Faithfulness should remain.
Heaven Is My Homeland
Philippians 3:20 describes the believer's citizenship as being in heaven.
That means earthly success cannot be the final goal.
Recognition cannot be the final goal.
Possessions cannot be the final goal.
Even fulfilling our earthly ambitions cannot be the final goal.
Christ is greater than all of them.
So I can work diligently while remembering where my ultimate hope lies.
I can serve without constantly demanding recognition.
I can wait without believing God has forgotten me.
And I can move forward without allowing yesterday to imprison tomorrow.
God Remembers
Maybe people haven't noticed.
God sees.
Maybe the season seems slow.
Remain faithful.
Maybe yesterday contained disappointment.
Keep walking.
Maybe you don't completely understand your purpose yet.
Stay close to Jesus.
Your value does not begin when people applaud you.
Your purpose does not disappear when people overlook you.
And God's faithfulness does not end because you are waiting.
A Prayer of Purpose
Lord Jesus, I want to remain close to You. Release me from anything that keeps me spiritually bound and lead me according to Your purpose. Let my future bring glory to You. Make me whole, strengthen my faith, and teach me to serve without depending upon human recognition. When I feel forgotten, remind me that You see me. When I feel delayed, teach me patience. May my life become a testimony of Your grace, and may I always remember that my ultimate home is with You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Remember
Stay close to Jesus.
Release the past.
Walk by faith.
Serve with humility.
Don't depend upon applause.
Trust God's timing.
Remain faithful in your season.
Because:
You can be hidden from people and still be seen by God.
