What does it really mean to win in life? The world may define victory through possessions, recognition, power, or achievement. But the Christian's greatest victory lies deeper—in knowing Jesus Christ, following Him faithfully, becoming more like Him, and letting our lives point others toward the Father.
Are You a Winner With Christ?
My answer is:
Yes—but what does winning with Christ really mean?
Being a winner with Christ does not mean that Christians will never experience hardship.
There will still be disappointments.
There will still be temptations.
There will still be problems.
There will still be days when we do not understand what God is doing.
Our victory is not the absence of difficulty.
Our victory is knowing who walks with us through it.
Our Victory Begins With Jesus
Isaiah prophesied:
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given…”
— Isaiah 9:6, KJV
Jesus came for people like you and me.
Through Christ, humanity is offered reconciliation with God and the hope of eternal life.
Jesus said:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
— John 14:6, KJV
Jesus did not merely tell us about the way.
He is the Way.
He did not merely speak about truth.
He is the Truth.
He did not merely promise a better life.
He is the Life.
That is where Christian victory begins.
Do You Know Jesus Personally?
Do you have Jesus as a friend?
Not simply:
Do you know about Jesus?
Not:
Did you grow up hearing about Jesus?
But:
Do you know Him?
Is He your Saviour?
Is He your Lord?
Are you allowing Him to guide your decisions, your relationships, your ambitions, your time, and your future?
Following Christ means surrendering more than one small corner of our lives.
It means saying:
“Jesus, take Your rightful place in my life.”
What Fruit Is Your Life Producing?
If Christ lives within us, eventually something should become visible.
Jesus taught:
“Ye shall know them by their fruits.”
— Matthew 7:16, KJV
So ask yourself:
What fruit is my life producing?
Love?
Joy?
Peace?
Patience?
Kindness?
Faithfulness?
Self-control?
Or bitterness, pride, anger, unforgiveness, and selfishness?
Christianity should not exist only in what we say.
It should increasingly become visible in how we live.
Some People Will Read Your Life Before They Read the Bible
“People read our lives.”
Some people may never open a Bible before encountering you.
But they can observe:
How you treat people.
How you respond when offended.
How you behave when nobody praises you.
How you handle disappointment.
How you speak about others.
How you serve.
How you forgive.
How you love.
Therefore, let your life help communicate the message you profess.
Let your words speak Jesus—and let your character support your words.
Be Righteous in God's Sight
Do not simply become righteous in your own eyes. Seek what is right before God.
It is easy to justify ourselves.
It is harder to allow God's Word to correct us.
A disciple remains teachable.
A disciple asks:
“Lord, what needs to change in me?”
Christian maturity is not proving that we are always right.
Sometimes maturity is allowing God to show us where we are wrong.
A Winner Must First Be a Disciple
“For you to become a winner with Christ, you must be a disciple.”
A disciple learns.
A disciple listens.
A disciple follows.
A disciple receives correction.
A disciple practices what the Master teaches.
Before trying to lead others, sit at the feet of Jesus.
Learn His Word.
Learn His character.
Learn His compassion.
Learn His humility.
Then get up and live what you have learned.
How Are You Using Your Time?
Every day is something we cannot recover once it has passed.
So ask:
How am I using the time God has given me?
There is time to pray.
Time to learn.
Time to work.
Time to serve.
Time to rest.
Time to encourage someone.
Time to tell someone about Christ.
Time to become the person God is developing you to be.
Do not spend your entire life waiting for the “perfect moment” to begin living faithfully.
Today matters too.
Put God Between You and the Problem
“Don't let your problems stand between you and God. Let God stand between you and your problems.”
If the problem stands first, all you see is the problem.
But when God stands first, you begin looking at the problem through faith.
The mountain may still be there.
The difficulty may still be real.
The answer may not come immediately.
But now you remember:
The problem is not greater than God.
What Does Winning With Christ Look Like?
Winning with Christ means:
Knowing Jesus.
Following Jesus.
Learning from Jesus.
Living what He taught.
Producing good fruit.
Using your time wisely.
Serving others.
Sharing the Good News.
Remaining faithful through difficulty.
And keeping your eyes on eternity.
Christian victory is not about being better than another person.
It is about becoming more like Christ.
A Prayer for the Journey
Lord Jesus, thank You for being my Saviour, my Lord, and my hope. Teach me what true victory means. Help me become Your disciple and not merely someone who knows about You. Let my words, actions, character, and use of time reflect You. Produce good fruit within me. When problems arise, help me put You before the problem rather than allowing the problem to stand between us. May my life point others toward You, and prepare my heart for eternity with You. Amen.
Remember
Know Christ.
Follow Christ.
Learn from Christ.
Live like Christ.
Produce good fruit.
Use your time wisely.
Let your life preach.
Put God before the problem.
Because the greatest victory is not simply getting everything you want from life.
It is reaching the end of your journey still walking with Jesus.
